Phew. You made it through Thanksgiving. Now you're looking for the most romantic Christmas vacation destinations. Getting away from the hustle and bustle always makes sense. It gives you some time for each other and allows you to experience something new for the holidays. Here are the most romantic Christmas vacation destinations.
One of the most most romantic Christmas vacation destinations is in North Carolina. When I think of romantic getaways, I think the Biltmore. And at Christmas time, it’s even better. Christmas at Biltmore, as it is dubbed, lasts from November 4 to January 8 and tickets range from $50 to $75, so it’s the most inexpensive vacation you’ll ever take. Plus, if you spring for the “Candlelight Christmas Evening,” you can take a tour of the estate after nightfall and see the 55-foot tall spruce on the front lawn lit up.
Also, there are horse-drawn carriages rides along with the regular tour of the estate and winery. If you would like more than just a day trip, you can stay at the Biltmore Inn, Village Hotel or Cottage on the estate. The Village Hotel has your more moderate pricing and the Biltmore Inn and Cottage are your luxurious accommodations.
If you’re looking for more Christmas fun, then New York City is the place for you. You know how they say New York has everything? Well, Christmas is no exception. For starters, they have the lighting of an even bigger Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, which tourists from all around the world come to see. Then you have ice skating in Winter Village, The Dyker Heights Christmas Lights, The Nutcracker, Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Holiday Markets, Santa Suit 5K, Santa Con and many more.
Now there’s the issue of where to stay. You could stay at the Lotte New York Palace, which is located on Madison Avenue and will give you a spectacular view of the Rockefeller Christmas Tree. You could also stay at The Plaza, which is located near Central Park. Really, you want to stay close to Rockefeller or Central Park or Madison Square Garden, or anywhere close to your Christmas festivities.
This place is known for Christmas markets that date back to the late 1200s. The Viennese Christmas Market, in front of City Hall, opens November 17 and ends December 26. Just be sure to double check with a credible source. Here you can listen to a choir singing carols, buying presents for loved ones, tasting a variety of delicious foods and beverages, ice skating and more.
There is also a Christmas market at the Belvedere Palace. This market opens on November 24 and ends December 26. Enjoy over 40 vendors selling handcrafted goods, culinary treats and of course, Christmas decorations.
There is no place more magical on Earth than Disney World. And at Christmas time, it’s even more magical. Christmastime at Disney begins December 21 and ends December 26 and consists of many things, from a Christmas party to a holiday gift dropped off at your hotel. With Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, part of the Ultimate Christmas Package, you can enjoy several stage shows, a Christmas parade, a fireworks show.
On the 22nd, you'll have access to Pandora at nighttime at The World of Avatar in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Then on the 23rd, an exclusive character experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
