7 Intriguing Small Towns in the US That You Should Visit ...

First of all you should know that New York as a whole is quite different from New York City. It actually has a lot of greenery and also, quite a few lakes and streams of various sizes dotting the natural landscape. Lake Placid was once the site of the winter Olympics and it still hosts a lot of athletic competitions now days too. You could take a gondola up the nearby mountain and have an awesome view of Lake Placid or you could visit the site of the Olympic Games.

This town is situated in Northern Arizona and it’s a bit greener and cooler than the rest of the state. It offers quite a unique environment since the mesas and plateaus are a site to behold. You could even say that they are just as majestic as the ones you see when you visit the Grand Canyon but they have far fewer tourists.

This is a beautiful, unpretentious, laid-back and charismatic city that you should definitely visit. The nickname of this town is Cowtown because twice daily, genuine Texas cowhands drive a heard of Texas longhorn cattle through the streets. Yet, it also has a handful of high-end restaurants and even cultural objectives like the Kimbell Art Museum or the Fort Worth Opera.

Even though Santa Cruz is a small town, during the summer it becomes a prime tourist destination. It’s a rather liberal town that you can visit throughout the entire year, especially in the fall or winter when the weather is a bit dreary. Since there are a lot of college students there, it hosts a lot of cool cultural events on a daily basis, so you will always have something fun to do.

If you love American Colonial history, then this is the perfect small town that you should visit in your next vacation since this is the town where the first battle of the Revolutionary War was fought. There are a lot of fun things you can do here but the most interesting one by far is watching battle reenactments.

It’s a college town, it’s very similar to Santa Cruz but instead of the ocean, it has a lake. Here you can find the Ivy League college, Cornell so there are a lot of things you can do here like visit the college, visit Carl Sagan’s house or take a ferry tour of the lake.

This is the perfect place to visit if you want to experience the Civil War history. Even though it’s a huge historical landmark, it doesn’t have too many tourists. Among the things you can do here, the more interesting ones are taking a ghost tour or visiting the infamous battlefield.
