1

Bring Lots of Entertainment

Some of these tips for camping work for those who love it as well as people who hate it. If you have a lot of entertainment, you'll feel like you're at home. I know, the idea is to get away from it all, but often people who hate camping don't want to get away from everything. So, bring lots of books and plenty of music – along with appropriate playlists. While you're at it, bring your tablet and a hotspot if you have it – for watching movies, you know.

2

Get Good Eats

I've seen a lot of people fear camping because they think they have to cook all their food over the fire, just by itself. No way! I mean, I've watched my dad cook bacon and eggs over the fire because he had the right tools. Bring the foods you like, bring a cooler, bring a little grill if you can, and a fire grate if you can't. You'll eat like a queen during your camping adventure!

3

Think about Glamping

You don't even have to be in a tent. Glamping is a really awesome phenomenon, because it has something for everyone. Some glamping actually does involve tents, but they're like tents from Aladdin or something, they're crazy. Just try to find all the comforts of home, along with a little luxury, and maybe you'll become a fan.

4

Cabins over Tents

Even if you don't go the glam route, you could try a cabin. Cabins are positively charming, especially if you're in the woods or the mountains. You also get a little privacy, and you definitely have comfortable beds. Couches, a full kitchen, what could be better? Well ...

5

Private Bathrooms Are Awesome

Private bathrooms. I really don't like going to the bathroom in the woods. Porta potties are likewise heinous. Lots of camp grounds have camp bathrooms, with sinks, toilets, and showers. That's not private, but it's better than nothing. Still, if the whole bathroom thing is the big issue, think cabins or RVs with their own facilities.

UPD:

Having a private bathroom brings a touch of home comfort to the wild outdoors, transforming your overall camping experience. No more late-night trekking to communal facilities or battling with unpredictable porta potties! By choosing accommodations like cabins or RVs, you get the convenience of a clean and personal space to refresh and unwind after a day full of activities. It's a simple luxury that can make all the difference, helping even the most reluctant camper feel pampered and at ease amidst nature.

Always Go with People You Love

Sometimes the company you keep makes all the difference. Even if you really detest camping, going with a group of your nearest and dearest may make you a believer. Get a group of friends together, go with your family, and make sure your beloved is included. You'll spend so much time having fun and cracking each other up that you might just start to like it a little.

7

Turn It into an Adventure

Bring a journal, some nature books, a camera. You can turn this into an adventure – because it is! Take a look at the world around you out there in the forest or the mountains. It's so beautiful – and that's what camping is really all about.

Camping's not all about bugs and peeing in the woods – even I don't like peeing in the woods. It's about really enjoying yourself, being out in nature, but going camping and being comfortable are not mutually exclusive. If you hate camping, do you think these tips might change your mind? Let me know if you decide to give it a try!

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

I love camping! I love the food on the grill! I love camping near a river so I can hear the water as I fall asleep at night! I love getting up with the sun and going to sleep when it gets dark! It's so refreshing- but I do hate cleaning it all when we get home. Yuck!

I'm going on a 3 day camping/bear hunting trip with my Daddy in November in Georgia. I'm starting to get a little freaked out! I'm probably going to fall off the side of the mountain or get eaten by a lizard.

my brother is a Marine who has to camp more often then not. All though I don't think he can do most of the things in the article, it's still funny to imagine it!
