By Melanie6 Comments

There are so many things to love about Malaysia. I mean what's not to love? Okay, maybe there's that thing about politics. But besides that, I bet you'll fall in love with it too! Here are some things to love about Malaysia that'll hopefully persuade you to join me.

1 Culture

Malaysia is made up of a multicultural society that consists of three main races, the Malays, Chinese and Indians, plus the Bornean natives. There are always festivals to look forward to, and it creates such a vibrant atmosphere the whole year long, from Chinese New Year to Deepavali. And because of that, the people of Malaysia get so many public holidays. It's definitely one of the best things to love about Malaysia.

Frequently asked questions

2 Food

This would be my favorite thing to love about Malaysia. You get to enjoy so many different types of wonderful food because of the multicultural society. It isn't really pure Chinese or Indian food - everything just sort of evolved and became more of Malaysian Chinese and Malaysian Indian. Roti Canai is not from India, just saying. And the best place to enjoy Malaysian cuisine would be at the hawker stalls amidst the locals.

***

Malaysia is home to a wide variety of cuisines, from Chinese to Indian, and even unique Malaysian dishes. The country is known for its street food, or hawker stalls, where locals enjoy a variety of dishes, from the famous Nasi Lemak to the popular Roti Canai. Malaysian cuisine is a mix of different cultures, making it a unique and exciting experience for travelers. Besides the food, the country also offers a variety of other attractions, from tropical beaches to lush rainforests. With its rich culture and diverse attractions, Malaysia is a great destination for anyone looking to explore the world.

3 People

It's really uplifting how people from different background can come together as 'One Malaysia.' They know how to respect others in result of living in a multicultural society. Almost half the population can speak the 3 languages that is commonly used in Malaysia, which are English, Malay and Chinese. Communication is obviously really important for a peaceful society. And the people are really friendly as well, especially taxi drivers. They can be great companion if you don't find them nosy and annoying, they're just innocently chatty.

4 Weather

Who doesn't love summer all the time? You get to enjoy the sun all year long and go to the beach whenever you want, never having to worry about the cold. Some people might refer to it as 'hot and humid' but I've learnt to appreciate that ever since moving to England where it's 'cold and dry' right now. Boo.

5 Nature and Wildlife

Malaysia is surrounded by the beauty of nature, especially Bornean Malaysia. I might be biased, but it's true! You can do all sorts of outdoor activities like jungle trekking, white water rafting, and even join the outward bound schools if you're feeling particularly adventurous! It's a great place to get in touch with Mother Nature.

6 Cleanliness

By that, I mean pollution wise. You can actually see clear blue skies and breathe fresh air when you're there. I wouldn't say it's totally pollution free, but it's way less polluted than other countries. Clean air, clear waters and blue skies are a luxury nowadays. The very few that you can't exactly buy with money.

7 Beaches and Islands

How can I possibly not include that in my list? What better way to spend summer all year long than at gorgeous beaches and islands? You can even go snorkeling and get a diving license while you're there. The feeling of sand beneath your feet, soaking rays, sipping coconut water, oh just take me back to paradise!

I've had such an amazing time in Malaysia, I can't wait to go back again! I hope that if you ever get a chance to visit, you'll love it as much as I did. Are there any places that you especially love?
