1

Pain Reliever

Pain Reliever One my personal must-have items when travelling or just to carry in my purse are pain relievers. You never know when you’ll get a headache, menstrual cramps or some other injury where you want to relive soreness and inflammation. There are two types of OTC pain relievers, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) and acetaminophen. Acetaminophen is commonly found in cold medicines and won’t cause stomach discomfort. NSAIDS like Advil and Motrin are good for relieving inflammation and pain but can cause stomach discomfort if taken on an empty stomach.

2

Bandages

Bandages Bandage strips come in handy for so many things, so it makes sense that it would be travel essential. Whether you’ve got a nasty cut or scrape, a blister or a painful hangnail, you can keep it clean and covered up. They’re also fab to have on hand in case you want to stick them inside uncomfortable shoes to prevent friction.

3

Antihistamine

Antihistamine Antihistamines aren’t just for people like me with allergies that just won’t quit. They’re excellent to keep in your travel kit to fight a rash, help you fight jet lag and fall asleep, combat motion sickness and nausea and some types of mild allergic reactions from food allergies. There are many uses for this medication, and even if you don’t think you’d need it, it could come in handy for a friend or family member.

4

Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe Vera Gel Aloe vera is probably the last thing you thought about packing as a travel essential. But it actually comes in pretty dang handy, especially if you’re going to spending a lot of time outdoors! If you’re flying, you can always opt to buy a small tube at your final destination but you can always decant your big bottle at home into a travel-friendly container to soothe sunburned skin, calm bug bites and help soothe angry blisters!

5

Sunscreen

Sunscreen Just in case you don’t have a moisturizer or makeup that contains SPF, don’t forget to pack the sunscreen! It’s best to apply sunscreen about 30 minutes before you head outside and apply about two tablespoons of sunscreen to the exposed areas of your body. Also, don’t forget that it needs to be reapplied every 2 hours or even more frequently if you’re swimming or heavily sweating.

Saline Nasal Spray

Saline Nasal Spray I’m a nasal spray newbie but if you like to be extra cautious about keeping your immune system strong while travelling, saline nasal sprays can be a big help. According to Dr. Travis Stork, dry plane air and the added stress from travelling could very well cause you to get sick, which is the last thing you need! Keep your mucus membranes moist, clear your nasal passage and help relieve allergies and colds by packing a small nasal spray.

7

Stomach Relief

Stomach Relief While you’re travelling, you’re probably going to come across so many different foods you’ll want to try! I love trying new foods too, but my belly doesn’t always agree with me. If you’re like me and don’t have an iron stomach, try taking a small Pepto-Bismol bottle or Loperamide, which are anti-diarrheal tablets, to help soothe your stomach so you can still enjoy your day!

8

Hand Sanitizer

Hand Sanitizer Hand sanitizers are a great way to stay clean if you have no access to soap and water or just want your hands to smell nice! While nothing compares to washing your hands with soap and hot water, hand sanitizers can be the next best thing when you’re travelling. You never know when you’ll come across a bathroom without any soap or when you want to quickly cleanse your hands after being in contact with something!

I hope this list of must have items comes in handy for you when you’re packing for your summer getaway! It might seem like a pain to pack some of these extra things, but they can help you avoid spending extra money on your trip and you can get right back to having fun and enjoying your trip! Do you have any must-have travel essentials that have saved you on a trip?

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

This list is awesome, hand sanitizer can also be used at a park ( hiking, boating etc.) or if you're somewhere where your hands get dirty easily and you want to have a meal with clean hands.

Dont forget your iPad

Instead of hand sanitizer, what about wet wipes? They come in small packages and are more effective than hand sanitizer.

Chapstick!

Great list I would also include antibacterial ointment for cuts and scrapes;)

Thx I like this
