Travel is awesome. It is one of life’s most enriching experiences. It doesn’t matter how far you go – every travel experience, every trip, brings its rewards. I always urge everyone to travel as much as you can, and this is why …
1. Life is Too Short to Stay in One Place!
Think about it, we are here for around 85 years and then we’re off somewhere else depending on what you believe, so you should really make the most of the time you have on this earth by getting to as many different corners of it as you can! When you are older and unable to be so active, it is the memories of those adventures that will fill your heart with glee and satisfaction.
2. Don’t Fall in to a Boring Routine
You have a 9 to 5 job, perhaps you go to the movies at the weekend, and this repeats and repeats until years have gone by in the blink of an eye! Break up this routine with the prospect of travel and the excitement and different types of planning that that all involves. It will keep you on your toes and stop your schedule from becoming repetitive and mundane.
3. Don’t Let Your Career Define You
Though there are certainly some vocations that take a whole lifetime to qualify for, you shouldn’t let your career be the one and only thing that defines you as a person. Open yourself up to more mystery and adventure by getting out of your comfort zone and travelling to different destinations. Don’t let every conversation you ever have be about work.
4. Don’t Worry, Babies Can Wait!
Don’t make the mistake of thinking that as soon as you are out of college you need to find the dream job, dream man and have the dream kids. The average age of motherhood is actually increasing year by year, so you definitely have some time to cut loose and get some travelling in before you have to start thinking about that.
5. Embrace the Unpredictability of Life
Life is completely unpredictable, so for this very reason you should be having as much fun as you can before your circumstances change or something happens that means you won’t be able to have as much freedom as you currently do now. Live in the moment and get out there!
6. Live a Budget, Backpacking Existence
I would highly recommend to anybody who can do it, to live a budget backpacking existence for an extended period of time. Not only do you get to see some amazing places in the world, but you also gain a new appreciation for expenses and luxuries that you may not have had before.
7. Feed Your Imagination
Imagination is like a thirsty plant. If you don’t feed it, you lose it! Try not to become just another dull member of working society by turning your adventurous brain off. Give it what it needs by going travelling and making memories that will last a life time.
8. Enjoy the Fun before Serious Times Set in
Make the most of your current carefree life situation while you can. You will only regret not having travelled when in ten year’s time you have bills, kids and other commitments to take up all of your time and money!
9. What Are You Waiting for?
If you are one of those people who is waiting for the absolute perfect time to go travelling, then you are never going to leave. There will never be a 100% perfect time; you just have to take the plunge and leave to create your own adventure. There will be bumps along the way, but at least you will have got to the destinations in the first place!
So, again, what are you waiting for?
