As I live in Britain and the country is known for its inclement weather, you may wonder why I love to look at pictures of rain. There is, however, a world of difference between the rain lashing down outside, especially in summer when it has maybe upset your plans for a country picnic, and a beautifully arty picture of the perfect rainy moment. I love pictures of rain, whether the rain is the star or a bit player, and here they are. (And I found you lots of lovely quotes about rain and song lyrics too.)

An arresting shot! Not a walkway to be crossed in that weather.

“...I don't just wish you rain, Beloved - I wish you the beauty of storms...” - John Geddes
Just like us, these charming little beetles need a touch of nature's rinse now and then. Isn’t it captivating how droplets of rain cling to their polka-dotted shells, each one magnifying the colors and the intricate details we often overlook? Their delicate wings pad softly against the wet leaves, taking a moment before they flutter away. This snapshot of simplicity makes you appreciate the smaller, often unnoticed occurrences of the natural world, and it's all the more delightful because it involves one of the most beloved insects.

The city shimmers as liquid pearls cascade from the heavens, painting the pavement in a myriad of dancing hues. It's a mesmerizing ballet of light and color, where each raindrop amplifies the vibrancy of the urban landscape. As twilight deepens, umbrellas bloom like nocturnal flowers, their carriers moving through the kaleidoscopic reflections with a harmonious rhythm. This is the time when the world seems to slow down, wrapped in a blanket of tranquil beauty.

"Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky." - Rabindranath Tagore
The silhouette of the palms swaying gently against the horizon were nature's gentle reminder: beauty juxtaposes with the might of a tropical deluge. As the skies opened, sending sheets of translucent splendor cascading over lush Belizean forests, there was a harmony in the turbulence. This was not just a weather event, but a ballet of elements, a spectacle with droplets pirouetting on the winds. In this moment, the world seemed to hold its breath, and the purifying force of the rainstorm brought not just water, but a cleansing of the soul, inviting a chorus of nocturnal life to serenade the night.
