1. Safety in Numbers

There really is safety when you travel with a group - and this is one of the main reasons to travel with a group. Think about it. When you travel far and wide, everything is new, different and strange. When you have three or five other people with you, chances are they will also look after you, unless they're completely insensitive and will do their own thing 24/7. You don't need to walk alone, as they say.

2. Is There a Doctor in the House?

Traveling in a group brings along a whole tribe of talents and maybe you’ll be paired with one or more vacationing physicians. You can’t go wrong when there is a licensed physician traveling in the bus, train or plane with you. Just be sure to tell the doctor exactly where it hurts. Or if you're single, you might be able to meet the love of your life in a tour group that has the cute vacationing architect onboard. Exciting!

3. Local, Local, Local

Many times in my trips around China, I was joined by several local residents (for whatever reasons they have for touring their own vicinity). My tour experience has always been enriching every time locals (or let's say, citizens of the same country) join the tour group as they bring added sparkle and back story to what I am seeing. The ruins in Cambodia, the old towns in China, the museums of Paris, even the reason why Laguna Beach is banning plastic comes with a story!

4. Never Stop Laughing

Can you imagine the life-long friends you can make when you're traveling with people from all over the world? Or forging closer bonds with friends whom you decided to travel the world with? Travel has a special effect on people. Let it work its magic on you.

5. Pass the Salt … Please

Another great experience in group travel is all of the fabulous cuisine that people from all walks of life love to chat about and experience. You simply can’t get mad at food and your new friends will love to share with you the right way to eat a kebab. Food is a great travel companion as it can bring people together. Couple that with great people and every meal is sure to fill not only your stomachs, but also your hearts.

6. Let Someone else Drive

Be it in a bus, train or plane, you can be assured that your group travel program will be well managed. Sit back and relax and let someone else drive for a while.

7. Savings!

I have learned that when it comes to traveling with friends, the magic number is four. That's when you can split the cost with your buddies: you pay a reasonable amount for sharing accommodation, transportation and even dining cost. Our mortal days can be long or short. Live it to the fullest with your friends who will be with you long after your tour is over. The stories you will share long after the tour are priceless!
