As the most populous city of Canada, there are more sights of Toronto than any visitor could wish for. Hugging the shore of Lake Ontario, Toronto is not only a fabulous tourist destination, it regularly features high up the list of the world's best places to live. You might recognize some of these sights of Toronto, and if not, put them on your itinerary for when you visit.

## 1. Downtown

This is one of the installations in Brookfield Place. It is often called the "Crystal Cathedral of Commerce"

At 1815 feet, the CN Tower is the tallest free-standing structure in the Western Hemisphere. 2 million people visit the building every year and many enjoy the world's highest observation deck.

Only opened in October 2013, the aquarium is one of the newest attractions of Toronto.

Despite the very modern look, the New City Hall opened in 1965, replacing the old one (still standing) which had been built in 1899.
