Instead of just seeing a Broadway show and then going home, you should see some television tapings as well. Here are a few TV shows you can see for free live in NYC, so you don't have to waste too much money on your vaycay:

1. Live with Kelly

Of course, even if you don't get tickets, you can always arrive at the studio a few hours before the show and stand on the stand-by line. However, even if you aren't able to get tickets to the show you want, you can always get a stand-by ticket by arriving in line "no later than 9:00 a.m. on the morning of the taping.
