Whether you’re interested in sightseeing, swimming, picnicking, hiking, or just sitting back and taking in the relaxing atmosphere, Palaruvi won’t disappoint as one of the essential places in Kerala to visit. Couples or families planning on visiting the region should be aware, however, that there are separate swimming areas for men and women, owing to India’s modest culture.

Famous for being both an elephant and tiger reserve, the sanctuary is also home to a multitude of mammal, reptile, bird, amphibian, fish, insect and flora species, making it the dream holiday destination if you’re at all outdoorsy.
