I have a bucket list of real life Harry Potter locations. I honestly doubt I will ever get round to them all, although living in the UK, I am luckily closer to them than millions of Potterheads and have already been to quite a few. So, if you’re a fan and are coming to the UK, here are the best Harry Potter locations.

The ELEPHANT HOUSE, EDINBURGH

street, facade, city, advertising, This wonderful little coffee house provided some writing sanctuary for JK Rowling when she was living in Scotland, almost penniless, and coming up with the idea for the most beloved wizarding tale of all time.

ALNWICK CASTLE, NORTHUMBERLAND

green, sky, castle, grass, stately home, Alnwick Castle provides the backdrop for the scenes outside Hogwarts where Harry and his fellow classmates have their very first broomstick flying lessons.

LEADENHALL MARKET , LONDON

landmark, arcade, architecture, building, shopping mall, Head to Leadenhall Market and you will find a familiar Diagon Alley feel, fitting seeing as this is where the front of the Leaky Cauldron scenes were filmed!

The JACOBITE, SCOTLAND

transport, highland, water, bridge, sky, A ride on the Jacobite steam train will take you through some familiar valleys and over familiar bridges that serves as the route for the amazing Hogwarts Express in the films.

BLACK PARK COUNTRY PARK, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE
