8 Things I Want to See in Paris …

Going to Paris is one of my ultimate dreams. I want to see lots of things in France, lots of things in Europe, in fact, but Paris is my A number one. I'm planning to go there on my honeymoon, and whenever that may happen, I am already starting to plan all the things I absolutely have to experience. So, here is my list of the 8 things I want to see in Paris. Maybe you want to see them too!

1. The Eiffel Tower

(Your reaction) Thank you!

Naturally, seeing the Eiffel Tower is a must. It's so iconic, it's a must-see. I want to climb it all the way to the top, even if it kills me – plus I must get the obligatory pictures in front of it. I can't even imagine the view – and I am so excited that someday soon, I won't have to imagine it!

2. The Louvre

(Your reaction) Thank you!

I love art, all kinds of it – paintings, sculptures, you name it, I love it. There are a number of pieces that really touch me as well, and many of them are in the Louvre. I love the idea of getting lost in the famous museum, of spending hours wandering all the exhibits.

3. Montmartre

(Your reaction) Thank you!

Montmartre is an historic district in Paris, and it is the premiere artisan district. Those are pretty much the main two reasons I want to visit. This is where the original Moulin Rouge is still located, and where Le Chat Noir once resided. The Sacre Coeur Basilica is also located here, which is also a huge draw.

4. Cathedrale Notre-Dame

(Your reaction) Thank you!

The Notre-Dame Cathedral is a gorgeous, gorgeous structure, full of history – pre-ancient history, even, considering that it was built on what was once a temple devoted to Jupiter. I want to see every inch of it but I'm most excited about seeing the beautiful Rose windows up close and personally. Those stained glass structures are absolutely breathtaking.

5. La Rive Gauche

(Your reaction) Thank you!

La Rive Gauche, or the Left Bank, is another must-see for any artist or writer. It is the place where, once upon a time, the likes of F. Scott Fitzgerald, Papa Hemingway, Picasso, Arthur Rimbaud, and many others did their deeds, spending their time creating great works and philosophizing over all manner of subjects.

6. Les Catacombes

(Your reaction) Thank you!

I am kind of morbid. So, a visit to The Catacombs is pretty much a must. Lots of myths and mysteries surround the Catacombs, making them popular in the movies and in literature. I just have to see them for myself. Thankfully I am aware beforehand that they now check your bags before you leave!

7. Pere Lachaise Cemetery

(Your reaction) Thank you!

There are so many famous people in this cemetery, naturally I have to go and pay my respects. Writers, artists, musicians – there are literally too many people I respect buried there to even count. Except for one...

8. Oscar Wilde's Grave

(Your reaction) Thank you!

My beloved Oscar is buried there, and I have to pay homage at some point in my life. I will probably end up sitting down and having a conversation with him, honestly, but I am an odd girl and I embrace that fact.

I really cannot wait until the day I reach Paris. It will be the fulfillment of a lifetime dream. Does anyone have any recommendations about what else I should see?
