I've been countless time to White Sands National Monument. I have to say that gypsum can actually kind of absorb heat. Most of the times I went was when the temp was around 75 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Be warned that it would be a little to a bit more warmer during warmer/hotter months. No matter what you should definitely bring a surfing suit and flip flops. Going to the monument on days if it were record breaking hot is okay because the sand won't burn you but have caution of a heat stroke. So just take in consideration of that. Also the gift shop is amazing!
