7. San Miguel De Allende, Mexico
The Easter celebrations in San Miguel de Allende attract travelers from all round the world, but the traditions are centuries old and not just put on for tourists.
2 weeks before Easter a statue of Jesus is carried from Atotonilco and it then spends the following 2 weeks being moved between the different churches in San Miguel de Allende.
There is another procession on Good Friday and the celebrations climax on Sunday when biblical figures including Judas are blown up amidst firecrackers.
