Columbus Zoo & Aquarium

Columbus Zoo & Aquarium One of my favorite Ohio attractions is the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium. My parents took me there as a child and my husband and I have been able to take our children there, as well. This zoo is located on about 580 acres of land and currently has over 9,000 animals. If you happen to be near this zoo in November or December, be sure to check out their seasonal light display. Plus, a trip to the zoo is a great idea if you’re on a tight budget.

2

Cedar Point

Cedar Point If you enjoy amusement parks, you should add a trip to Cedar Point to your vacation itinerary. This amusement park is located in Sandusky and is one of the oldest operating theme parks in the United States. Cedar Point is often called the “Roller Coaster Capital of the World” because it has 16 different coasters. If riding roller coasters isn't your thing, that's okay. Cedar Point also has a variety of family rides and activities that kids of all ages can enjoy.

3

Lake Erie Shoreline

Lake Erie Shoreline If you’re thinking about visiting Cedar Point as part of your Ohio vacation, be sure to spend some time enjoying the Lake Erie shoreline, too. Lake Erie is one of the five great lakes and is a popular vacation destination. While there you can relax on the beach or charter a fishing boat. Be sure to check out some of the gorgeous lighthouses that are located along the Lake Erie shoreline, as well.

4

"Amish COUNTRY" in Holmes County

"Amish COUNTRY" in Holmes County If you have a fascination with the Amish way of life like I do, you should visit Holmes County. People who live near Holmes County often refer to the area as “Amish Country” because it’s one of the largest Amish communities in the world. There you can enjoy learning about Amish culture, shopping for homemade goods and of course eating yummy homemade treats. My husband and I were able to visit “Amish Country” a few years ago and it is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Did you know that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is located in Cleveland, Ohio? If you’re a huge music fan, this is a must see attraction. If you decide to go through the museum, you will see exhibits for performers like Elvis and The Beatles. During the summer, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame also has a free concert series. This allows fans to see performances from new and upcoming artists.

Cincinnati Reds

Cincinnati Reds If you visit Ohio during baseball season, you should plan to watch a Cincinnati Reds baseball game. This baseball team has won five World Series titles and was the first openly professional baseball team. It’s also fairly economical to watch Reds baseball games. They often have family day specials and discount tickets for seniors.

National Museum for the U.S. Air Force

National Museum for the U.S. Air Force The National Museum for the U.S. Air Force is located just outside of Dayton, Ohio. There you can see over 350 planes and missiles. Plus, you can look at a variety of artifacts and personal items that belonged to people who served in the U.S. Air Force. If you’re looking for educational attractions, this museum is a great choice.

Of course, there are many other wonderful things to see and do in Ohio. Have you ever visited the “Buckeye State” before? What are some of your favorite attractions?
