6

Hamoa Beach, Hawaii

Hamoa Beach, Hawaii Hawaii has more than its fair share of the best beaches in the USA and it’s difficult to choose the best. Hamoa on Maui’s east shore is not the easiest beach to get to but the intimacy and beauty is worth the trek. Edges by cliffs, fringed and shaded by coconut palms and other lush vegetation and lapped by the famously clear Hawaiian waters, Hamoa is a breached volcanic crater.

7

Main Beach, East Hampton, New York

Main Beach, East Hampton, New York The Hamptons have been a favorite getaway destination for New Yorkers for centuries. With houses owned by A-listers built right up to the glorious soft powdery sand, you never know who you might be rubbing sun-lotioned shoulders with.

8

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina You’ve got to love well-developed resort areas to choose Myrtle Beach, but there’s no denying that it is one of the top American beaches. There’s no denying its beauty and despite the mass of high rise hotels and condos, the sand stretches on long enough for you to be able to find your own special spot.

9

Ocean City Beach, Maryland

If you like beaches with a carnival atmosphere, find your sunner home here, because there always seems to be something going on.

10

Bandon Beach, Oregon

Bandon Beach, Oregon Surely one of the most amazing seaside landscapes in the US is that of Bandon Beach on Oregon’s Gold Coast. The golden sands are scattered with huge haystack rocks, around some of which tide pools gather. The waters off Oregon rarely reach nice swimming temperature but take a dip if you’re brave enough. Otherwise, just lie back and enjoy the scenery.

11

Cape May, New Jersey

Cape May, New Jersey Overlooked by the Cape May lighthouse, this is the place to grab your binoculars to watch dolphins frolic in the surf. Or you can just bask in sunshine on the super-white, sugar soft sands, occasionally cooling off in the cool, clear water. Be sure to take a walk into town. Cape May is one of the oldest vacation destinations in the US and the town is a charm, full of Victorian architecture.

16

Library Park Beach, Florida

Library Park Beach, Florida Some of the most unconventional beaches in the US are found in the Florida Keys. If “different” is your thing, you will love Library Park Beach on Islamorada.
