Be Our Guest

Be Our Guest By far one of the best themed restaurants in Disney World is Be Our Guest inside Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom Park. Be Our Guest takes you inside Beast’s castle from the Disney movie, Beauty and the Beast. After passing through a brass gate and a stone bridge guarded by gargoyles, your adventure inside Beast’s castle begins. Guests walk through a hallway full of armor and then have the option to dine in the elegant ballroom where Beast and Belle shared their first dance, the eerie West Wing with tattered curtains and the enchanted rose, or the Rose Gallery that features a 7 foot tall music box of Beast and Belle. The restaurant contains stained glass, medieval windows, and mosaics. For lunch, Be Our Guest is a quick-service meal where guests place their orders before being seated, but for dinner the restaurant transforms into a table-service dining experience. No matter when you go, be sure to try Lumière’s famous ‘Grey Stuff’ for dessert. When it comes to theming at Disney World restaurants, Be Our Guest is second to none!

50’s Prime Time Café

50’s Prime Time Café Take a step back in time by dining at Disney’s 50’s Prime Time Café. You’ll feel like you're back at mom’s house with the vintage atmosphere and food options, such as pot roast, meatloaf, and chicken pot pie. The Prime Time Café is located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and is a table-service dining restaurant. If you plan on eating here during your visit to Walt Disney World, be sure to make a reservation 6 months in advance and request the special TV table that airs mid-century favorites while you dine.

The Sci-Fi Dine-in Theater

The Sci-Fi Dine-in Theater Disney’s Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater in Hollywood Studios is a fun experience every Disney visitor should try at least once. The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater combines two of my favorite things: movies and food. Designed like an old drive-in movie theater, the tables inside the diner look like cars and a projector plays old B movies that provide lots of laughs. During the flick, a waiter will come up to your ‘car’ and take your order so you can snack on burgers, fries, chicken wings, or even a steak during the flick. It doesn’t get much better than that!

4

San Angel Inn

San Angel Inn San Angel Inn in Epcot’s Mexico Pavilion is a beautiful dining experience you won’t soon forget. The restaurant itself is located inside the Aztec Temple in the Mexico Pavilion. Inside the Temple, it is always nighttime and is made to look like you are outside. The way San Angel Inn is designed makes you feel like you are dining in a courtyard inside a Mexican village with an Aztec Temple in the background, as well as an active volcano. The ambience is peaceful and pretty, serving as a great table-service restaurant to dine at to unwind after a long, busy day in the parks.

5

Biergarten

Biergarten The Biergarten Restaurant in Epcot’s German pavilion is one of the best buffets in all of Disney World. The theming makes you feel like you’re in the heart of Oktoberfest. The dining hall is set up like a Bavarian village town square, complete with houses, lampposts, and a full moon. In the center of the back wall is a large stage where a band will perform German music during the course of your meal. There is a dance floor in front of the stage where guests are encouraged to let loose. The buffet has a nice selection of salads, cold cuts, soups, sausages, sauerkraut, pretzels, spaetzle, and bread. And in true German tradition, there is a nice beer menu and even the option to order a full liter of beer.

Coral Reef

Coral Reef If you are a sea lover, you absolutely must dine at Coral Reef Restaurant in Epcot. The restaurant has views inside the Living Seas aquarium and you can watch the sea animals while you dine. The Coral Reef Restaurant is a Disney fan favorite and has even been featured on TV shows, such as Boy Meets World. There is no shortage of seafood on the menu at this table-service dining restaurant. This is one experience all aquarium lovers must take advantage of!

7

Gaston’s Tavern

Gaston’s Tavern If you’re looking for a counter-service dining option in Magic Kingdom, make your way over to Fantasyland to eat at Gaston’s Tavern. The Tavern pays homage to everyone’s favorite egomaniac, Gaston. In front of the restaurant, there is a giant Gaston water fountain in his honor. The tavern itself also contains portraits of Gaston as well as antlers and other rustic décor. Any visit to Gaston’s is not complete without sampling a ‘LeFou’s Brew’ - a frozen apple juice drink topped with marshmallow cream, mango, and passion fruit. This drink looks like a beer, but is in fact alcohol-free.

I love immersing myself in the theming at these 7 restaurants. What are your favorite themed restaurants at Walt Disney World theme parks?
