7 Amazing U.S. Music Festivals to Attend in 2013 ...

With all kinds of 2013 music festivals coming up, I decided to make a list of 7 great ones you absolutely must make it to. There are great ones that appeal to all kinds of music lovers, from electronic, to indie, to rock, to a mix of everything! Music festivals are amazing, and are a great way to just let loose, have fun with friends, and meet new people. However, you should know that some can be a little on the pricey side, so you might want to save up beforehand. But honestly, the experiences and memories you make are worth every penny. So here are my 2013 music festivals to definitely attend.

Coachella!

This is at the top of my 2013 music festivals list because it's just awesome! I love it because there is always something for everyone. It is also a great way to discover a lot of bands or artists that you might not have known about. It takes place in Indio, CA, usually during the month of April. However, wristbands for this event usually sell out ridiculously fast depending on how good the lineup is.

2

Electric Daisy Carnival

Just that name alone sounds interesting, right? This is basically a giant rave, with nothing but the best electronic music out there. You never really know what you're going to get at this festival, but that is part of the fun! This year, it takes place in Las Vegas from June 21-23. I already bought my ticket, and you should buy yours too!

3

Electric Zoo

So this one might not be as popular as EDC, but it's still a great one. The lineup includes a lot of the biggest names in electronic music, and is never a disappointment. It's taking place in Randall's Island Park, NYC, from August 3- September 1, but I must confess that tickets are a little pricey.

4

Stagecoach

This festival is actually run by the same company that organizes the Coachella events. The difference? This is for all you country music lovers! It also takes place in Indio, CA, and lasts from April 26-28. Headliners include Toby Keith, Lady Antebellum, and the Zac Brown Band. So if you're a country fan, be sure to hit up Stagecoach this year.

5

Rock the Bells

Are you more of a hip hop lover? Then this is the festival for you. It's a 2-day event that takes place in 3 different places this year, including San Bernardino, CA (from August 17-18), Mountain View, CA (from August 24-25), and Holmdel, NJ (From August 31-September 1). It features some of the biggest artists in the hip hop industry, so if hip hop is more your scene, then this is one festival you'll want to attend.

Lollapalooza

This one caters to electro and alternative rock fans. The lineup this year includes the Black Keys, Jack White, Avicii, Passion Pit, and many more! It's taking place in Chicago, IL, from August 2-4. Also, I find it awesome that a lot of hotels are in walking distance (so you already cut out the need for extra transportation there), and that food/beverage costs are kept pretty low. Those two things are a huge plus, especially since festival tickets alone can sometimes be a large expense.

7

Warped Tour

And finally, we have the Warped Tour. This event is for the alternative rock and punk lovers. It is also super affordable, and doesn't break the bank. It takes place at various locations nationwide, and runs from June 15-August 4. One thing that separates this festival from a lot of the other ones is that you can actually have meet and greets with a lot of the bands!

Now, I know that there are tons of other ones that didn't make the list simply because they have already passed (like SXSW, Ultra, Beyond Wonderland, etc…). But I'm always on the prowl for new, hot festivals to attend. Are there any ones that you have heard of recently, plan on going to, have been to in the past, or just absolutely loved? I would really love to hear from you!

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

I LOVE Warped Tour! It's such a great time. So is Mayhem. Also, for all you Aussies out there, check out Soundwave too.

Wakarusa?!

SASQUATCH at the gorge in Washington. Won't find a more beautiful place for a music festival.

My only problem with Warped Tour is how they don't let you bring in water, take place on the hottest day, and sell you water for 4 bucks each and they take your cap! So you have to walk around with a water in your hand all day, or drink it faster to get it out of the way.

POP is this weekend!! Time to break out my glitter shorts! Woot woot !

Check out TomorrowWorld...your mind will be blown

Definitely need to go to free press summer fest in Houston!

Can't wait for stagecoach this year!

Sasquatch in Washington State is heaven for indie and alternative music lovers! some of the artists for this year include Mumford and Sons, The Postal Service, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, The XX, The Lumineers, Arctic Monkeys, Imagine Dragons, Youngblood Hawke, Vampire Weekend and Atlas Genius! it runs May 24th-27th but tickets are about $400. totally worth it though, it is such an amazing experience!
